N.E.Chapter of the American Council of Snowmobile Associations
The Northeast Chapter will award (three) $500.00 scholarships to a graduating high school senior who has been accepted at a College, Junior College, or Vocational School or to a College Student who is already enrolled. The student or their Parents or Guardian must be already a member in good standing of their State Association for the year.
The Scholarship Trustee’s will review all applications and make its award based upon academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, community service and the quality of the original essay submitted with each application. Financial need is a secondary criteria used in the selection of the winner. Completion of the financial need portion of the application is optional. Students who have provided a complete financial background will be given priority over those whose applications are incomplete when all other considerations are the same. Please make sure you include attachments 1 through 6 on the application.

The essay should be about what snowmobiling means to you, or about snowmobiling in your state (economy, trails, environment) in five hundred (500) words or less.

Dave Weaver Scholarship
This scholarship is for graduating senior(s) from high school whose parent(s) work in the flagstone,fieldstone, and/or bluestone industry. For those wishing to apply for this scholarship they must meet
the following criteria:

1. Any parent(s) owning, working for or working in a flagstone, fieldstone, or bluestone quarry,
processing plant, or distribution yard, including office personnel and truck drivers, with a
graduating son(s) or daughter(s) who continue their education immediately after high school.

2. Regardless of your grade point average you can apply. Grades are not evaluated in regards to the awardee, except in the event of a tie.
3. There is no preference in regards to the institution the applicant plans on attending after
graduation, meaning it can be to a tech school, beauty school, trade school, college or
university.

4. Applicants do not have to be members of the Pennsylvania Bluestone Association to apply for
the scholarship, but it will affect your overall score. PBA members receive 10% while those
working for a company that is a PBA member will receive 5%, and those not members receive
0% for this category.

The scholarship dollar amount will be established on a yearly basis and will be voted on by the PBA Board of Directors. The money the recipient is awarded will be given directly to the institution he or she is attending to pay for their books, tuition, or any other expenses they may have at the college.

PACAC Pennsylvania Assoc. for College Admission Counseling
The PACAC Scholarships are each a one-year non-renewable scholarship for high school seniors graduating from PACAC member high schools. This scholarship is intended to support a student's goal of continuing his or her education.
Multiple scholarships will be awarded in April 2017. The top recipient will receive the $1,500 Scholarship in memory of one of our PACAC founding fathers, Benjamin James. The other three recipients will receive a $1,000 Scholarship.
High school seniors will be selected based on:
  • Academic performance in a college prep curriculum
  • Financial need
  • Commitment to cultural and intellectual diversity
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the first semester of senior year

The Northern Tier Hardwood Association Community Forests Scholarship is offered to all High School Seniors in the nine-county area of Bradford, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Sullivan, Susquehanna, Tioga, Wayne, and Wyoming counties. Stream of Learning Scholarship Program
This program is designed to support outstanding students who are charting a course of study that is critical to the water and wastewater industry, from engineering to environmental science.
1. Currently living in Pennsylvania American Water's service area. A copy of the applicant's household water bill should be included for verification.
2.Plan to attend a 2 or 4 year college or technical school.
3.Plan to study environmental science, biology, chemistry or environmental engineering.
4. Complete application.
5. Write a short essay about their career interests.
6.Include a letter of recommendation from a teacher or community service leader.
7. Include high school transcript. Applicant's cumulative grade point average at the end of the first semester of the senior year must be 3.0 or greater.

Road to Safety Scholarship Contest
Metzger Wickersham’s Road to Safety Scholarship contest is open to graduating, college-bound high school seniors in Pennsylvania.
At Metzger Wickersham personal injury law firm, we are committed to promoting education and awareness about safe driving through community outreach, which encourages young drivers to get involved in spreading the message to keep our roads safe. Seniors must submit a creative project about the dangers of drunk and/or distracted driving

Entries will be judged on the following criteria: 1) Does the project effectively convey the theme of the contest? 2) How creatively does the project deliver the message? 3) Does the project motivate teens to be more safety-conscious behind the wheel?

Rules:
  • Seniors may enter the contest by submitting a creative project that highlights the dangers of distracted driving and/or drunk driving. All projects must be submitted with a completed Entry Form.
  • Entries may include posters, paintings, drawings, t-shirts, digital illustrations, public service announcements, videos, recorded songs, brochures, infographics and more. The more creative the better!
  • All projects must be the original work of the entrant.
  • Any pieces of writing should be 1,500 words or less. Please type submissions. If emailing any piece of writing, please submit a PDF or Word Document file.
  • Videos and songs should be no longer than four (4) minutes. If emailing audio or video file, please submit in .mp3, .mov, or .wmv format. You may also submit via file sharing service (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.)
  • Any artwork submissions must be easily transportable. If emailing artwork, please submit JPEG or PDF.
  • Students may submit no more than one (1) entry.

Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives' Scholarship Program enhances educational opportunities for eligible students who reside in Pennsylvania.
The program provides four-year scholarships to two high school seniors per year. Each award consists of the value of one semester of tuition at the State System of Higher Education for each of four years. Eligible educational institutions include nearly all colleges, universities, and career schools in Pennsylvania. Half of each annual award will be paid in the fall semester, and half in the spring semester. Students must maintain eligibility criteria in all four years in order to receive ongoing awards
1. Graduating High School Senior
2. Legal residency of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
3. Attendance at a Pennsylvania college, university, or career school as a full-time student

Doctor Almo Sebastianelli Drum corps Scholarship Fund is available to any senior residing in Pennsylvania who meets the following criteria: A child or grandchild of a Pennsylvania legionnaire in good standing or a child or grandchild of a deceased Pennsylvania Legionnaire. To be eligible a student must be a member of a high school band who is going on to higher education majoring in music.
The Robert J. Trace Scholarship Fund is available to every student 15 to 18 years of age residing within the state of Pennsylvania and meeting the following criteria:* A child or grandchild of a Pennsylvania Legionnaire in good standing;
  • A child or grandchild of a deceased Pennsylvania Legionnaire;
  • A child of a Pennsylvania soldier that was killed as a result of the war on terrorism including the Pentagon, Iraq and Afghanistan.
To be eligible a student must compose a 300 to 500 word essay on the topic “Patriotism and Citizenship – What America Means to Me”, and complete an application

The Pennsylvania School Public Relations Association wants to encourage and promote the field of public relations to public high school students through an educational scholarship for those interested in studying the field or related subjects (i.e. journalism, English, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, etc.)

AADE American Association of Drilling Engineers
Up to twenty $1000 AADE scholarships are being offered for the 2017-2018 academic year. The Appalachian Chapter of the AADE is utilizing these scholarships to encourage college bound high school seniors to consider a career in the oil and gas industry. This scholarship is NOT being limited to Petroleum Engineering majors; or for that matter, engineering majors.

Edwards/Napolitano Memorial Music Scholarship: Established in memory of good friends Johnny Edwards, and John Napolitano, both talented musicians from the Susquehanna Area. Mariano & Maria Lampazzi Fiaschi Memorial Nursing Scholarship: Established by Colonel Peter J. Fiaschi in memory of his parents. Provides a post-secondary scholarship to a high school graduate who, has attended Susquehanna Community School District for at least three years and will major in Nursing. Candidates must achieve at least an 88 GPA at the end of the Junior year and achieve an SAT score of 850 with a minimum of 400 in the mathematics and verbal examinations. Scholarship award is available for four years of college if the recipient remains a student in good standing enrolled in a Nursing program.

Meshoppen Creek Scholarship:Established by Reverend Paul and Mrs. Myrtle Carlson. Provides a post-secondary scholarship for a female high school graduate, who exhibits promise for her future and who writes a winning essay about her greatest accomplishment in her life, so far.

Margaret Stone Music Scholarship for Houghton College:Established by Mrs. Stone to assist a student who will attend her alma mater of Houghton College to major in music.
Montrose Area Chamber of Commerce Pauline MacNeal Memorial Scholarship:Established by The Montrose Area Chamber of Commerce. Provides a post-secondary scholarship to a high school graduate who, will major in business or a related field and who writes a winning essay of approximately 200 words explaining life goals and expectations upon graduating from college. Scholarship is contingent upon student earning at least a 3.0 GPA during the first semester of college.

Beatrice Reynolds Memorial Scholarship: Established by the late Ira T. Reynolds in memory of his late wife. Provides a post-secondary scholarship to a high school graduate who will major in education or teacher training. Scholarship award is available for four years of college if the recipient remains a student in good standing enrolled in an education or teacher training program.

R.E.S.C.U.E. Benjamin B. Stone Memorial Scholarship: Established by the staunch environmental organization “Return Susquehanna Country Under Ecology” to recognize Benjamin’s courageous and life-long efforts that both halted threatening pollution to our region and established the Susquehanna County Recycling Center. Provides two post-secondary scholarships to high school graduates who, write a winning essay addressing his or her past environmental interests and accomplishments and describing future plans to protect the environment.

Susquehanna Fire Department Community Service Scholarship: Established by the Susquehanna Fire Department. Provides a post-secondary scholarship to a high school graduate who, has demonstrated a strong sense of volunteerism and community service, with consideration given to students who participate in the Fire Department.

Matthew Van Fleet Memorial Automotive Scholarship: Established in memory of Matthew Van Fleet who as a high school student passed away in an automobile accident. Provides a post-secondary scholarship to a high school graduate who, who will study automotive, motorcycle, or truck technology and who writes a winning 200-250 word essay addressing the following topics: why pursue training in the automotive field, describe the ultimate vehicle, envision the future of automotive technology and explain one’s favorite recreational activity.

Susquehanna County Democratic Award
Award presented to two graduating seniors selected from the 6 high schools in Susquehanna County.


Students should be a Susquehanna County resident and Democratic affiliated.
The award is based on community involvement/volunteer projects; school (extra-curricular) clubs and activities; course content; and individual future endeavors. This will include furthering their education in a 2 or 4 year college program or a technical/apprentice program.

1. The recipient can be furthering his or her education at university, college, technical school, business school or even as an apprentice in a technical or artistic profession. The school must be secular

2. The recipient must have a true desire for higher education in whatever field he or she chooses. The student must have decent grades, good citizenship, and care about education.
3. All Susquehanna Community High School seniors are eligible for the Karmazin Scholarship.
4. Must answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper, with a cover sheet with your name, address, phone number, and a recent photo of yourself. These applications must be typed.a. List three goals you have set for yourself and briefly describe how you will reach them.

Compose one (1) paragraph responses to each of the 3 topics as outlined in the application.
Terms of award:1. One or more scholarship of at least $500.00 but no more than $1,000.00 will be awarded to the successful candidate(s)

2. The applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the scholarship committee who will determine which application(s) are most deserving of a scholarship award.

3. The check reflecting the award will be sent directly by the Club's Treasurer to the recipient's college/university upon receipt of the recipient's fall’s semester grades, and any information necessary to complete submission to the school on recipient's behalf.
